Vision 2040: We’re Listening to Your Feedback

The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority held public workshops on June 1 and 2 to share updates on our master planning process, Vision 2040. We are very appreciative of everyone who attended the workshops in Raleigh and Durham.

Area residents look at the 9 alternatives presented on June 1 in Raleigh.

Attendance and participation at both workshops was great, and we were able to hear what matters most to our customers and neighbors with regard to our future growth and development.

Many attendees shared written comments with us at the meetings, and we also received comments via our website. Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and questions.

Public comments are extremely important as we work toward a final development alternative. We encourage you to continue submitting questions and comments via our website. We invite you to view the nine alternatives and other materials presented at the June 1 and 2 meetings.

Most of the comments we’ve received so far are focused on connections at RDU for regional mass transit systems, considerations for environmentally-responsible development and convenient options for parking as well as improving connections between our terminals.

In the coming weeks, we will share more information on how Vision 2040 is shaping up, and we’ll specifically address questions and comments we’ve received. Continue to check back here and on our social media channels for the most up-to-date information on Vision 2040.

7th Public Workshop

In the meantime, we invite you to attend our 7th public workshop on June 28 at 6 p.m. at the Airport Authority Administration Offices. Our building is located across from Advantage Rental Car on Trade Drive at the airport. We’ve added this workshop to our original schedule in response to the great interest our region has shown in our master planning process.

At this workshop, we’ll be sharing the final four development alternatives as well as concepts for land use opportunities. As with our previous workshops, we’ll begin at 6 with a presentation by our master planning consultant team followed by a time for review of the proposed plans and one-on-one conversations with RDU staff and the master planning team.

Your comments are crucial to the process to develop the best master plan to allow RDU to support the air service needs of our growing region for the next 25 years.  And, don’t forget to join the conversation online by tagging your social media posts with #rdu2040.

Thank you for your feedback and participation in RDU’s Vision 2040 master planning process.
