United’s second daily round-trip flight returns in April 2015

United Returns Second Roundtrip SFO Flight

Beginning in April 2015, RDU will once again have two daily nonstop RDU-SFO flights via United. The airline is bringing the popular afternoon departure back from April-August to meet high demand for travel from RDU to SFO.  The additional arriving flight will land at RDU in the late morning.

Delta Bumps Up RDU-LAX Service

America’s second largest city continues to be a major draw for RDU passengers. In response to demand, Delta is bringing back a second daily flight from March-September on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The flight is scheduled to depart RDU in the morning and return in the late afternoon. The year-round RDU-LAX flight departs in the afternoon with a red-eye return that arrives in the early morning hours.

Cancun, Nassau Service Begin This Month

Speaking of Delta, the airline is bringing back its very popular seasonal nonstop service to Cancun beginning Saturday, Dec. 20. The weekly nonstop flight will continue on Saturday through the winter. Also, as previously announced, Delta is offering a limited nonstop service to Nassau on Saturday from Dec. 20-Jan. 10.

JetBlue Launching Bag Fees in 2015

Checking bags will soon cost you if you fly JetBlue airline. USA Today reports that the airline will modify its fare structure early in the new year. With those changes comes a basic fare level that does not include checked bags. The other types of fare will include options for a limited amount of checked baggage at no charge.

JetBlue Launches Online Reading Program

Do you love to read? JetBlue is introducing Fly-Fi Hub throughout its fleet. The online portal provides passengers with free content from a number of newspapers and magazines. The service is being rolled out aboard aircraft outfitted with Wi-Fi service. Both a free and paid option will be available to travelers.

Earn JetBlue Loyalty Points Aboard South African Airways

Keeping with a JetBlue theme: Planning to head to Africa in 2015? JetBlue has announced an upgrade of its partnership with South African Airways that allows JetBlue passengers to earn frequent flyer points aboard any of the carrier’s flights. Later in 2015, members will be allowed to redeem existing JetBlue points for flights aboard the African air carrier.
