Avelo Airlines will launch nonstop flights from RDU to Nassau, Bahamas, in June. With the addition of this new destination, RDU now offers nonstop flights to 15 international cities. Avelo will also add two new domestic destinations when it begins nonstop service to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Wilmington, Delaware, in the Philadelphia region in May.
“We are proud to welcome three new destinations to our route map as Avelo grows along with RDU and the Triangle region,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “The addition of Nassau service sets a new record for the number of international cities RDU serves and provides more options than ever before for travel outside the U.S.”
Nonstop flights to Nassau will begin June 11 and fly seasonally on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Service to Wilmington starts May 22 and will operate twice a week. The Grand Rapids route begins May 23 and will also fly twice-weekly.
Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said, “We continue to Inspire Travel by growing our service at RDU with these new routes to Nassau, Grand Rapids and Philadelphia, offering our Customers even more choices. As the only airline offering nonstop service to these destinations from RDU, we are making it more convenient and affordable for our Triangle-area Customers to enjoy 10 popular vacation destinations.”
Avelo began service at RDU in 2022 with one route. The new destinations bring the number of routes Avelo serves to 10.
