Air Canada to Launch Seasonal Nonstop Service in June 2025
Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) announced today that Air Canada will begin nonstop service between the Research Triangle region and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in June 2025.
“Triangle travelers are receiving a welcome gift this holiday season with Air Canada announcing it will begin nonstop service to Vancouver next summer,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “This new route connects the Research Triangle to one of RDU’s top unserved international destinations and offers convenient connections to Asia and Western Canada.”
The Vancouver route will operate out of Terminal 2 three days a week seasonally, from June 5 through September 30. Vancouver International Airport is a preclearance airport, offering U.S.-bound travelers a faster and more convenient experience by clearing U.S. Customs, Immigration, and Agriculture inspection before takeoff. Tickets are on sale now.
“We are thrilled to add non-stop services from the Raleigh-Durham region to Vancouver! Our considerable network from Vancouver means customers in the Research Triangle region have fast, convenient access to visit everything beautiful BC has to offer or connect easily and seamlessly to other destinations in Western Canada, or to Japan, Korea and other international destinations in Asia from our YVR trans-pacific hub,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning, at Air Canada.
Vancouver is the third new international destination that will launch from RDU in 2025. BermudAir announced it will begin nonstop service to Bermuda in April 2025 and WestJet will start nonstop service to Calgary, Canada in June 2025. The Vancouver route brings the number of destinations outside the U.S. to 12, a new record for the airport.
