Breeze Airways to Launch Nonstop Flights to San Diego

Airline Will Serve California Tech Hub and Westchester County, NY

Breeze Airways will begin service from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to San Diego International Airport (SAN) on April 30, providing nonstop flights to the most popular domestic destination RDU does not currently serve. Breeze will also begin service to Westchester County Airport (HPN), New York on May 3.

“RDU welcomes the opportunity to connect the Research Triangle region to San Diego, another prominent technology hub,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “Breeze will offer Triangle-area travelers a convenient and low-cost option to get to the West Coast business and leisure destination and to Westchester County in the heavily traveled New York metro region.”

Westchester County is located about 30 miles north of the New York metropolitan area, one of RDU’s most frequented destinations.

“San Diego, our newest addition to the Breeze route map, is one of the U.S.’s most popular summer destinations with great food, beautiful beaches and popular family attractions,” said Breeze Airways’ President Tom Doxey. “We’re thrilled to add service to both San Diego and New York/Westchester from RDU.”

San Diego service will fly from RDU on Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays, with service to Westchester County flying on Fridays and Mondays. Both routes will operate on a 137-seat Airbus A220-300.
