Breeze Airways will bring more than 200 jobs to the Research Triangle region when it opens a new crew base at RDU in 2026. Breeze anticipates hiring pilots and flight attendants to support the base.
“Breeze Airways is steadily growing its presence at RDU, demonstrating a strong commitment to the Raleigh-Durham region,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We are thrilled to see Breeze deepen its investment by creating jobs in our community and adding international flights to its route map.”
The airline also plans to begin nonstop flights from RDU to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, in March 2026, pending final government approval. With the addition of Montego Bay and Punta Cana, Breeze will operate 32 nonstop routes from RDU. That is up from just eight routes when Breeze launched service at the airport in 2023.
“Breeze is the No. 1 carrier at RDU in terms of destinations served thanks to the growing number of Guests – both new and returning – who love our ‘Seriously Nice’ form of air travel,” said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “When evaluating where to expand our base presence next, the Research Triangle was a natural fit and is a desirable location for recruiting new Team Members.”
Breeze will fly to Punta Cana on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning March 4 and to Montego Bay on Thursdays and Sundays beginning March 5. The seasonal routes will operate on a 137-seat A220-300.
