Airport Authority Board Makes Progress In Airport Director Search

RDU Airport, NC – Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Board Chair Terry Yeargan has announced that the Board is making progress in the search for a new airport director for Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

ADK Executive Search, the firm hired by the Board to facilitate the process, received 52 applications. The Board has narrowed the field to 15 applicants. Those candidates are now being screened in greater detail against the criteria posted in the job description.

Later this month, the Board will develop a short list of candidates. Then, those candidates will go through another round of evaluation and assessment. First round interviews will take place in September and final interviews will take place in October.

In late July, the Board announced that Airport Director John Brantley had accepted its request to stay on as airport director until the search process is completed. Brantley is retiring after 34 years of service at RDU.
