RDU hit a milestone in July when it reached a record 80 nonstop destinations. Breeze Airways announced flights to Ogdensburg, New York, on July 8. RDU now serves 66 domestic and 14 international cities. The airport set another record in 2025 when WestJet became its 19th airline.
“RDU now offers more nonstop choices than ever before for leisure and business travel,” said Tammie Hall-Roberts, chair of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Board. “We are excited to see so many people making RDU part of their summer travel plans.”
Passenger traffic was also up in June, with more than 1.4 million travelers flying through RDU, a nearly three percent increase over May 2025.
Aeromexico Expansion: Triangle-area travelers now have more choices for a getaway to one of RDU’s most popular destinations. Aeromexico will begin nonstop service to Cancun in December, becoming the third airline to serve the resort city in Mexico. Aeromexico launched operations at RDU in 2024 with nonstop flights to Mexico City.
Park Economy 3: Three new sections of Park Economy 3 have opened at RDU, bringing more spaces online in the lot off National Guard Drive near Aviation Parkway. When the PE3 expansion project is completed, it will include 7,000 additional spaces, a Customer Amenity Building, solar panels and EV chargers. RDU recommends airport guests give themselves additional time to park and shuttle to the terminals during construction. Travelers can also book parking in advance to secure a space in the parking deck or lot of their choice at www.ParkRDU.com.
New Dining Concept: Dunkin’ is now serving airport guests near Gate C15 in Terminal 2. Guests can choose from more than a dozen coffee beverages, a rotating selection of 50 donut varieties, and an array of bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Dunkin’ is among more than a dozen new restaurant concepts opening in Terminals 1 and 2 through 2026 as RDU reimagines the airport dining scene.
