RDU Announces New Service to Los Angeles

RDU Airport, NC – Delta Airlines today announced that it will begin nonstop service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Los Angeles. The service will begin on Thursday, June 10 and will operate Sun. through Fri. on the airline’s 148-seat Airbus 320. Tickets go on sale March 20.

”RDU is excited to welcome back service to Los Angeles,“ said RDU’s Director of Marketing Teresa Damiano. ”LA is a major metropolitan city with which our region has strong business and leisure ties, which is evidenced by the more than 250,000 people who travel between LA and the Research Triangle Region each year.“

Delta offered service to the popular leisure and business destination from June 8, 2006 through Jan. 2008. The airline discontinued service due to escalating fuel costs and schedule changes. Demand for the service to LA and the west coast from the Research Triangle Region, however, remained high.
