Supporting TSA Employees at RDU

NOTE: Following the Executive Order signed March 27, 2026, TSA employees could see their pay resume as soon as March 30. As a result, RDU’s gift card donation program has now ended, in order to comply with federal guidance.

Transportation Security Administration employees at RDU play a critical role in keeping our airport safe and our community connected. Right now, these federal workers are doing so without a paycheck due to the ongoing partial federal government shutdown.

RDU deeply appreciates the dedication and professionalism of our local TSA colleagues, and we know our guests do, too. If you’d like to show them your support, there’s a simple opportunity to help.

How to Support TSA Employees

If you are looking for a way to help the dedicated TSA employees at RDU who continue to work without pay during the partial government shutdown, TSA is permitted to accept grocery store or gas gift cards. Visa or other non-store branded gift cards and cash cannot be accepted.

Gift card donations can be dropped off at the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 TSA Supervisor Podiums at the back of the checkpoint or by simply asking for a Supervisor or Manager.
