RDU Airport, NC – Raleigh-Durham International Airport today launched a new version of rdu.com. Each day, the airport’s website receives more than 10,000 page views. Understanding the importance of the website to communicate with local travelers and visitors to the Research Triangle Region, RDU has developed a site that is easy to navigate and features a mobile site, real-time flight information and the airport’s first blog.
Visitors to rdu.com most frequently are seeking information on airlines and flights at RDU, parking, terminal maps and directions to the airport. Links to this information are featured prominently on the home page.
Overall new design — The site features a crisp, modern design with engaging photos and new content throughout. A rotating image on the home page features important customer information, including announcements of new non-stop service, shops and restaurant promotions and more.
Mobile website — Developed specifically for cell phones and other mobile devices, the mobile site allows customer easy access information on airlines and flights, parking, ground transportation and more.
Real-time flight information — The new rdu.com features real-time flight information on the home page. The flight information is powered by FlightView. Using this data, flights can also be tracked to determine their location at any time.
RDU’s first blog — RDU Cruising Altitude is RDU’s first public blog. Airport Authority employees will take readers inside the airport to provide information on new flights, the airport’s air service development efforts, major construction projects and special events and promotions. The blog will also give readers a sneak peek behind the scenes at RDU as we plan the airport’s future and conduct daily operations.
New terminal directory maps — With new terminal directory maps, viewers can zoom in to find the location of a shop, restaurant or boarding gate.
Other features include a new section on The Shops of RDU, featuring detailed menus for select restaurants, an interactive non-stop destinations map and a revamped section about the Airport Authority, which includes statistics, bios and photos of the Airport Authority board members and RDU leadership.
