RDU Observation Park

Plane enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy the views from Observation Park, which overlooks RDU's longest runway.

The park is located near the Air Traffic Control Tower and Park and Ride 2. Direct communication from the control tower to pilots can be heard from the elevated lookout area. A playground and picnic tables are nearby.

Visit the park and then enjoy a meal or snack at Crosswinds Cafe in the nearby General Aviation Terminal. Crosswinds Cafe is open 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
