Passengers traveling through RDU’s Terminal 2 can experience some of the local restaurants and specialty shops that locals have come to know and love.
- Carolina Ale House
One of the Triangle's most popular sports bars, the Carolina Ale House has opened its newest location at RDU. Known for its wide selection of local and national microbrews, domestic draft and imported beers, the restaurant also features a menu that truly has something for everyone. It also has a relaxed atmosphere with decor showcasing many local and national sports teams.
- 42nd Street Oyster Bar
Billed as the place “where the ditch-digger could sit down beside the Governor,” 42nd Street Oyster Bar offers something for every type of traveler. The restaurant is one of Raleigh's top casual dining restaurants. It features a menu of fresh seafood, most of which is caught by the restaurant's own fleet on the North Carolina coast. The restaurant also offers a large offering of Tar Heel breakfast choices.
- 2nd Edition Book Sellers
Already a popular RDU destination, 2nd Edition Book Sellers has opened its second airport location in Terminal 2. The shop, which features high quality, previously-owned books, is known throughout the nation as “the great used book store at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.” The store's success is attributed to its staff, which possesses a deep knowledge and interest in books.
- änders Natural Soap Co.
änders Natural Soap Co. began as a homemade craft enterprise in 1999 and has since grown to be a staple vendor at the Raleigh State Farmers Market. The shop has now expanded to RDU, bringing a well-known line of natural soaps and related products to passengers traveling through our region.
- Brookwood Farms BBQ
Brookwood Farms BBQ brings three generations of experience in making Carolina-style barbecue to RDU. A favorite among locals in central North Carolina, the restaurant is bringing its signature style of slow cooking meats over coals to the airport. In addition to great food, Brookwood Farms BBQ will be full of Carolina charm, including a stone fireplace.
- North Carolina Vintages (Opening December 2008)
North Carolina Vintages is the perfect place to relax and savor award-winning North Carolina wines, either by the glass or bottle. The full bar will also offer a sit-down menu consisting of wine-enhancing gourmet spreads, small bites, salads and other items. Featured wineries include Biltmore Estate, Childress and Shelton. North Carolina ranks 10th nationally in grape and wine production.
