Terminal 2 is designed to function as a common, or shared, use environment instead of each air carrier having its own assigned and exclusively used space. The building also has a single information technology infrastructure over which all tenant communication and data are transmitted.
The common use environment allows the Airport Authority to:
- Fully manage the building’s operations
- Increase the efficiency of the space
- Reduce operating costs for airlines and tenants
Resource Management Center
To facilitate this technology, the Airport Authority has a Resource Management Center located high above the Terminal 2 concourse.
The Resource Management Center:
- Controls the movement of aircraft on the Terminal 2 ramp
- Manages the building’s common use technology
- Assigns gate spaces, ticketing positions, baggage claim carrousels and other behind-the-scenes elements to ensure efficient operations during irregular or inclement weather operations
