Summer 2009

Construction of Terminal 2 progressed rapidly during the summer of 2009. The erection of structural steel was completed and the building's signature canopy and mast were installed. In addition, the building's interior is taking shape with work progressing on both the concourse and ramp level office areas.

Crews worked during the summer to finish the erection of structural steel and the installation of the building's glulam trusses.		Crews raise the last glulam truss into place on Terminal 2 at the end of the project's topping out ceremony on Aug. 7, which was attended by several hundred workers on the construction project.


Masons work on interior walls on the terminal's ramp level, under the concourse. This area will hold airline offices, mechanical rooms and support facilities for the terminal.		Workers install support framing in the spaces that will one day contain the terminal's new shops and restaurants.


Outside the terminal, contractors finished installing underground fuel lines that run beneath the ramp area. They also replaced large sections of concrete leftover from the time the area was part of Terminal C.		The terminal's signature mast and canopy were installed in early summer. This key architectural feature will also give passengers protection as they walk between the terminal and parking garage.
