This spring, Terminal 2 phase II began to take shape. The building’s foundations are completed and steel has risen along the length of the concourse. Glulam trusses have been set along the concourse, the concourse floor has been poured and work is well underway on the ramp level offices and basement utility areas.

Construction Updates


Early in the Spring, crews worked to set the concrete foundations for the erection of structural steel along the concourse.		Hydrant fuel lines for the refueling of aircraft were installed under the terminal’s ramp area, where aircraft will one day park.


Construction of the concourse progresses north to south with the initial construction of basements and foundations, followed by steel and then roofing.		This space, on the Terminal 2 ramp level, will one day house airline offices, mechanical rooms and other support spaces for day-to-day operations in Terminal 2.


Crews worked carefully to tie steel into the existing building while normal terminal operations continued just on the other side of these temporary walls.		Roof construction quickly followed the installation of the glulam wood trusses along the concourse. During the coming months, crews will begin work on the building’s curtain, or window, wall.
