Parking Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I am in a daily or hourly parking area?
Signs are located at each ticket dispenser to indicate the type of parking and the rates for that location. Each parking ticket dispensed will also indicate either hourly or daily parking. If you enter an hourly lot in error, you should immediately proceed to the exit. There is no charge for stays under 15 minutes. All customers who park in an hourly space will be charged the hourly rate.

What should I do if the daily parking areas near the terminals are full?
Daily parking between the terminals is RDU's most popular location and may fill up during peak travel periods. When daily parking in this area becomes full, electronic signs will guide motorists to RDU's park and ride lots.

How do I know what parking lots are open?
During peak travel times and holidays, the status of parking availability can change rapidly. Customers are urged to read the electronic signs throughout the airport for the most accurate way to learn availability of daily or hourly parking.

Do you have long term or short term parking?
RDU offers motorists three parking options.
Hourly Parking is located in the garage between Terminals A and C. Hourly parking is ideal for motorists parking for less than 8 hours.
Daily Parking is also located in the garage between Terminals A and C. Daily parking costs $1 per hour or $10 per day and is ideal for long-term parkers who want to be within walking distance to the airport's terminals.
Park & Ride Lots offer an economical alternative for motorists. Park & Ride lots offer free shuttle service to the terminals.

Do you have a parking area for drivers picking up passengers?
Motorists waiting to pick up arriving passengers are invited to wait in the parking lot at RDU Center.

How can I appeal an ordinance violation ticket?
Use this form to appeal an ordinance violation ticket received at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. This appeal form is for ordinance violation tickets only and does not apply to moving violations received at RDU. Please follow the directions given on the top of the printed form.
