We begin our tour with a visit to the Green Monster at Fenway Park in Boston, home of the Boston Red Sox. Massachusetts' largest city is the perfect first stop as it combines one of the nation's oldest ballparks with one of the country's most historic cities. Not a baseball fan? Boston offers plenty of reasons to get away.

Take the T
To see the best of Boston, you'll never have to step foot in a car. Upon arrival at Boston's Logan International Airport, take the famous “T” subway system nearly anywhere in the city. Fenway Park is located on the Green Line at either the Kenmore or Fenway stops. When touring other parts of the city, catch a water taxi to get a unique view of the city's beautiful downtown skyline.
Historic Fenway Park
Nearly 100 years old, Fenway Park on the city's south side is home to the legendary Boston Red Sox. Since the first game was played there nearly 100 years ago, this classic American stadium is as timeless as the city itself. |
 |
History almost comes alive watching a game in the stadium that features the Green Monster, a storied wall on the outfield resulting from changes to the park's layout more than 50 years ago. The stands have changed little since the days that baseball greats Cy Young, Babe Ruth and Ted Williams took to the field here. Check out more on Fenway Park's storied history here.

Step Back in Time
Boston's history stretches centuries back to the days of Paul Revere's famous midnight right. Stepping back in time is easy with the city's famous Freedom Trail, a two-mile painted path through downtown that guides visitors to many historic sites such as the Old North Church, the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill.
Eat and Play
Boston is famous for its New England Clam Chowder and you'll find plenty of restaurants serving the dish throughout downtown. Or check out unique dining spots such as the Bull and Finch Pub just off the Boston Commons, which was the inspiration behind the T.V. show Cheers.

Before the big game at Fenway, be sure to take in some of the city's other attractions. It's the perfect time of year to visit the Boston Public Gardens or stroll around nearby Cambridge and Harvard University. Children of all ages are sure to enjoy the New England Aquarium and Skywalk Observatory.
