Fly South: Warm Weather
Destinations Abound

If the unusually cold winter weather that the Research Triangle Region is experiencing has you thinking about warm weather, no worries. Grab your sunscreen, pack your sandals and head south on one of 14 daily flights from RDU to six warm weather non-stop destinations.

In just a matter of hours, you could be on the Sunshine state's shores, exploring the beautiful desert southwest or enjoying a desert paradise in Arizona.

Florida
RDU has nine daily non-stop flights to Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and Tampa.

Florida's white sand beaches are just
a short flight from RDU.

Ft. Lauderdale
Southwest and JetBlue each have one daily flight to the city known as the “Venice of America.” Just hours after leaving RDU you could be dining on the city's famed boardwalk, shopping at trendy boutiques on Las Olas Boulevard heading off on a cruise for somewhere even further south.

Miami
American Airlines can jet you off to Florida's largest city three times each day. Once there, take a stroll along South Beach, enjoy the warm tropical nightlife, or jump off on other adventures to the Florida Keys or Everglades National Park.

Orlando
Home to some of the most famous theme parks in the nation, Orlando is accessible three times daily from RDU on Southwest Airlines. Visit Disney World, Universal Studios or Sea World. Or, take a short drive to the state's Space Coast, where you can take a tour of NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Tampa
Southwest can also take you to the other side of Florida three times each day from RDU. Imagine relaxing on the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico watching the sun set over the water. Also, head inland to take in the sights of Busch Gardens or the Florida Aquarium.

Desert Southwest
If southwest sounds like more the direction you'd like to head, check out what's available in Las Vegas and Phoenix.

Las Vegas and Phoenix
Southwest Airlines offers one daily non-stop flight each to the high desert cities of Las Vegas and Phoenix. Together these cities offer a range of activities from the world famous casinos along the Las Vegas strip to hiking in the stunning South Mountains surrounding Phoenix. In both, catch glimpses of the nearly bygone wild American west and enjoy delicious southwestern cuisine.
