- February
The Board approved plans for Gordon Biersch to expand on the Terminal 2 concourse. The restaurant will add an additional 60 seats by expanding into vacant space adjacent to its unit near Gate C7 in Terminal 2. Construction is anticipated to begin in May.

- March
The Board approved a $879,720 contract with Triangle Grading and Paving Company, Inc. to clear and prepare the site of the new Burger King along with the site reserved for future development of a casual dining restaurant. The restaurant will be located at RDU's Aviation Station on Aviation Parkway. The work includes building a new access driveway from Aviation Parkway to National Guard Drive. Construction is expected to begin later this Spring.
- April
The Board approved an agreement with Pearce, Brinkley, Cease and Lee of Raleigh for design work related to the renovation of Terminal 1. The company will work with the Airport Authority to plan extensive renovations to the ticketing, bag claim, concourse and back-of-house areas in the main section of the terminal.
