GA Complex Design Wins Award
RDU's General Aviation Complex design has received a 2006 Honors Award for Engineering Excellence in Transportation by the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina (ACECNC).
This program celebrates engineering achievements which demonstrate the highest degree of merit and ingenuity.
The award cites the work of HNTB Corporation of Raleigh, hired by the Authority in 1995 to provide planning, design and construction services for general aviation redevelopment. This project cost over $50 million and established the most extensive and modern General Aviation facility on the East Coast.
The award was presented during the ACECNC's 2006 Engineering Excellence Awards Dinner in Raleigh on January 24, 2006.
