100 Club Recognizes 100 Winners |
RDU's 100 Club is a way to recognize business partners who excel in customer service by scoring perfect scores on mystery shop evaluations.
Upon receipt of a perfect mystery shop score, individuals are awarded a 100 Club lapel pin. In April of each year, RDU awards the person who has received the most perfect scores throughout the year as the RDU Service Worker of the Year. Twice a year, a recognition event is held for all 100 Club winners.

During the most recent reception, RDU recognized the efforts of 134 workers representing these companies. The two companies that consistently have the most employees recognized are The Paradies Shops and Anton Airfood. The organization that was recognized as the Most Improved over last year was the TSA.
In addition to the RDU front line staff, several airport partners are involved in the mystery shop program: The Paradies Shops, Anton Airfood, Hudson News, Greenwood Strategic Resources, One Source Janitorial Service, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Globe Services, Aviation Airport Services Inc. and Dulles Taxi Service.
Congratulations to all who make customer service a priority. These 100 Club members represent RDU's best service providers. |
Preparations Underway for Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative
|
The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will require all travelers, including U.S. citizens, to and from the Americas, Bermuda and the Caribbean to have passports or other accepted documents that establishes the holder's identity and nationality in order to re-enter the United States.
In April 2005, the Department of State (DOS) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a plan to be implemented in phases. The travel initiative will be a two-phase plan beginning December 31, 2006.

|
The first phase will be applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean and Bermuda. Phase two will take effect on December 31, 2007 when the travel document initiative will be extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.
The travel document initiative will affect all U.S. citizens traveling within the Western Hemisphere, who will now be required to carry a passport or other accepted documents. It will also affect certain foreign nationals who currently are not required to present a passport to travel to the U.S., namely most Canadian citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda and Mexican citizens. |
New RDU TV Spots Now Online |
RDU launched two new television ads on the airport's CNN monitors, just in time for the 2005 fall and winter holiday travel rush. One commercial illustrates how easy it is to use Exit Express when parking in the garage between the terminals. The second commercial focuses on the breadth and quality of services that RDU delivers to travelers, who have high expectations of an international airport.
