Travel Fun in the Summertime at RDU

Summer marks the halfway point for 2005. If travel continues at the rate it has been going, this will be RDU's busiest in five years. We are having a great year at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, with an average increase of 12 percent more passengers a month than last year. We also welcomed new non-stop service to Salt Lake City, Utah for a total of 37 non-stop destinations.

RDU recently completed an air service study to document where RDU passengers are traveling. The project was accomplished with the support of the Research Triangle Regional Partnership and the local business community. As a team, these entities will work with the airport and use this information to persuade airlines to make the RDU travel experience more efficient with either more direct flights or increased frequencies to current destinations.

Summer is always a busy travel time. Travelers driving to RDU are reminded to watch our electronic signs for information on lots with available parking.

RDU is committed to the highest level of customer service. We want the RDU experience to be a positive one. It is with great pride that www.rdu.com received a thorough facelift. This newly-redesigned site places all the most frequently requested pages ‘front and center' for a more customer-friendly design.

Other ongoing customer service initiatives include RDU volunteers and staff assisting travelers using Exit Express, dedicated personnel on hand to handle the specific concerns of the busy summer travel season and more. Be sure to check out our online form for customer service comments. We offer this service as a more efficient way to gather customer feedback and improve the RDU experience.

Thank you for your continued interest in RDU.

All the best,

W. Stephens Toler, Chairman
