Denver was identified in a recent Airport Authority air service study as one of the top three destinations for which nonstop service was not offered from RDU. Nearly 400 passengers travel daily between RDU and Denver, making the service a priority route for the Triangle Region.
300 Days of Sunshine
Looking for a vacation destination? Denver boasts 300 days of sunshine a year. Go visit and you will find the nation's largest city park system, 90 golf courses and an incredible 650 miles of paved bike trails. Denver is also a cultural center.
Denver has one of the highest educated populations in America and a great love of the arts. The Denver Art Museum is in the process of doubling in size with a new wing designed by Daniel Libeskind. The Denver Performing Arts Complex is the second largest in the nation with ten theatres seating 10,000 people for theatre, symphony, opera and ballet.
The city also has the tenth largest downtown in the United States, a bustling area centered around a mile-long pedestrian promenade lined with outdoor cafes.
One of the city’s claims to fame is that it brews more beer than any other city with 80 different beers brewed here. LoDo is Denver's hip downtown historic district where restored Victorian buildings now house more than 90 sports bars, brew pubs, jazz clubs and restaurants. Denver has a growing music scene and some of the best concert venues on earth, including the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a 9,000-seat arena carved out of gigantic red rock boulders.
Denver is one of only a few cities to offer eight professional sports teams, including the NFL’s Denver Broncos, Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies, NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and the NBA’s Denver Nuggets.
