SPRING 2005

From the Chairman
Recognizing the People Who Make RDU World-Class

Spring has come to the Triangle region and Raleigh-Durham International Airport . As the flowers and trees bloom, travel is soaring at RDU thanks to spring break, March Madness and lower airfares.

This issue of the RDU Update focuses on the people who work at RDU and how they shape each passenger's travel experience. Madeleine Albright once said “Whatever the job you are asked to do at whatever level, do a good job because your reputation is your resume.” This is clearly the motto at RDU. Our great reputation is built on the interaction passengers have with the people who work here.

We highlight our recently named Employee of the Year, a RDU Police Officer and his K-9 partner, Trouble, and our Volunteer(s) of the Year, Bill and Barb Sharpe.

Over the past few months, RDU welcomed the current President of the United States, a former President, the first lady of Tanzania, the winning NCAA basketball team from UNC and more than 600,000 passengers a month.

It is with great pride that we share the latest information on the USO at RDU and also highlight the new services offered through our ground transportation division. In this issue we also give you a behind the scenes look at the progress we've made on the Terminal C redevelopment project.

Spring is a time of new growth and as RDU continues to grow we will continue to share updates on our people, services and construction.

Happy Travels!
