TSA Offers Tips to SimpliFly Travel

  • Remember the 3-1-1 rule for carry-on liquids. All liquids, aerosols and gels must be in a three ounce or less bottle, in one clear zip-top bag and only one bag per traveler.
  • Do no wrap holiday gifts. Wrapped gifts may be unwrapped at security checkpoint as part of the inspection process.
  • Pack an organized carry-on bag using layers – a layer of clothes, then electronics, more clothes, and then any heavier items. This will help security officers see what's in your bag.
  • Have your boarding pass and ID ready for inspection when you get to the checkpoint.
  • Remove your coat and shoes and place them in a bin.
  • Place any oversized electronics in a separate bin. iPods and other smaller electronics can stay in your carry-on bag.
All liquids, aerosols and gels must be in a three ounce or less bottle, in one clear zip-top bag.

When in doubt, leave it out. If you're not sure about whether you can bring an item through security checkpoint, put it in your checked bag or leave it at home. Visit www.tsa.gov for more security checkpoint tips.

Prevent Lost Luggage

  • Contact your airline before going to the airport to ensure your flight is departing on schedule.
  • Put your airline’s customer service number in your cell phone. If you need to contact the airline to reschedule your flight, you will have the number with you.
  • Avoid lost luggage. Place your name on the inside and outside of your luggage.
  • Take a picture of your luggage. In the event your luggage is lost, you can provide a photo to the airline.
