The change also eliminates ever present confusion about the absence of a Terminal B. That facility was incorporated into Terminal 1 during a renovation and expansion project. The building that was formerly Terminal B consists of the area currently occupied by Southwest Airlines.
The change also extends to the naming of concourses at RDU. Passengers will notice that Concourse C is now open in Terminal 2. When the building is complete in 2011, Concourse D will open on the south side of the building.
This naming pattern gives the Airport Authority flexibility in renaming the concourse in Terminal 1 in the future and helps passengers to clearly find their way through the terminals. |
