On January 3, SuperShuttle will launch shared ride van service throughout the region, offering another choice to passengers traveling to and from RDU.
Upon arriving, passengers will visit the SuperShuttle counter in either terminal and be matched with other riders traveling to a similar area. The company uses a GPS mapping system to line up riders on routes throughout the area. Inbound passengers can request service through the company’s Web site or reservations line.
“We welcome SuperShuttle to the Research Triangle Region,” said Michael McElvaney, deputy director for operations at RDU. “With the opening of the new Raleigh Convention Center and increased demand for service from RDU to Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill, Super Shuttle will provide one more option for our customers.” |

SuperShuttle will begin shared ride van service to RDU in January. |
Initially, service will be limited to certain hotels and other major destinations throughout the Triangle region. However, the company plans to expand to medical centers, universities and eventually to residential addresses over time.
