Just in time for the busy holiday travel period, RDU is opening a new commercial curb at Terminal C. The new location removes larger vehicles, such as Park & Ride buses and rental car shuttles, from the passenger pick-up curb closest to the terminal.

The new drop-off location for commercial vehicles will increase traveler safety by removing large vehicles, which can block people’s line of vision, from heavy pedestrian traffic areas. Taxis will still be located on the curb closest to the terminal.

The new commercial curb is designed to align the most used services, such as rental car shuttles, with the high foot traffic crosswalks. There are specific allocated zones for each type of service which will be clearly marked. the new curb will be much easier for travelers to use. During the first week of operations, RDU’s Visitor Services Department will have additional volunteers on hand to assist travelers.

RDU is getting into the holiday spirit. Musicians are booked for the holiday travel season and the RDU stores and restaurants have planned fun-filled activities to celebrate the season. They have already lined up performances by the Dixie Land Band and Victorian Carolers, as well as visits from Clifford the Big Red Dog and Isabelle the Clown.
