From the Chairman

Around the airport you’ll often here our mantra — We’re RDU and we’re all about you. You can see this reflected in topics covered in this edition of the RDU Update. We want to share travel tips, alert you to changes in travel documents and other information that affects your travel. This is our opportunity to give you, the RDU traveler, news about your airport.

Everything we do at our airport is designed to make your travel easier and your service the best. Whether it is adding new service to get you where you need to go, or adding new concessions like Borders and Starbucks to better serve your needs, we really are all about you.

Steve Toler, Chairman

To echo our vision, “To be the best airport in the world, known for our uncompromising customer service” this year we celebrated Customer Service Week in grand style. We worked with all our airport tenants — from the airlines to the restaurants and the other service providers. The festivities included an open house in the parking garage atrium where airlines showcased popular destinations and had gift bags for travelers. Also, RDU’s shops and restaurants introduced customers to specialty merchandise and menu specials.

We, at the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority, celebrate Customer Service Week each year so that we can highlight efforts to enhance our customers RDU experience. One way we do this is for Authority employees and Board members to join airport volunteers in assisting arriving and departing passengers and guiding customers with ExitExpress, the airport’s parking payment program.

These are exciting times at our airport, but they are made more exciting when we know our customers are receiving the best service possible. We want and need to see the comments from our customers — when we provide great service — and when we don’t. So please don’t hesitate to let us know how we’re doing.  And thanks for helping us celebrate all the great changes happening at RDU.  I hope to see you at the airport soon.

Safe and happy traveling,

Steve Toler, Chairman
