RDU Thrives in '05
Summer marked another milestone in what continues to be a very good year at RDU. For the first eight months of the year, the airport has welcomed 10 percent more travelers than in 2004. We know more people are traveling this year, and we are glad to have them flying through RDU.
Most people have heard we are redeveloping and expanding Terminal C. We refer to this new terminal as ‘a terminal for the way you travel.' It is designed to be open, airy, spacious and modern. There will be a visible path from ticketing, to security, to the concourse and to your gate. Learn more about how the new Terminal C will look in the article, A Look Inside the New Terminal C.
Passengers at an international airport expect a combination of restaurants, shops and personal care services. The Airport Authority works to add services that enhance the travel experience for our passengers. Read the article about The Corner to learn about the new place in Terminal A to get a sandwich, snack, periodical or beverage for your flight or as you wait to pick someone up.
RDU is more than halfway through 2005, but all indicators point to this being a banner year. As you travel through the airport, you may see signs of development and construction, try to think of these as growing pains as we build the best possible airport for you, our passengers.
All the best,

W. Stephens Toler, Chairman
